Groundwork is a desktop application. Your financial data — transactions, balances, budgets, debt information — is stored in a SQLite database on your computer. We have no access to it. It never leaves your machine unless you explicitly export it.
If you sign up for email updates on this website, we store your email address and name to send you product updates. We use SendGrid to deliver emails. We never sell or share your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@groundworkfinance.app.
Groundwork's AI features are optional and run only on your own machine: the app uses a language model on your computer (via Ollama), so nothing is sent to an AI service and no API key exists. There is no cloud AI option.
